DK Cas is the southwest component of a faint triple star system. The brightest of the trio is the northeast component, measured as V=18.160+/-0.008 and B-V=0.962+/-0.110 and located 2 arcsec northeast of DK Cas. 2. The magnitude shown above is a single night intermediate magnitude, obtained either when the variable was rising to maximum or fading to minimum. DK Cas is very faint at minimum, an examination of POSS-II plates shows it to be about magnitude 20 in quiescence. 3. Stars #1, #2, #3 and #4 are saturated, and their magnitudes and colours are very approximate and should not be used. They have the following reliable Tycho-2 magnitudes which can be used - #1 V=8.54+/-0.01 #2 V=10.02+/-0.03 #3 V=10.70+/-0.05 #4 V=10.92+/-0.08 Bruce Sumner 31 December 2000
