Star #1 and #2 are saturated, and should be used with care. Their magnitudes are only accurate to about +/-0.2 magnitude. 2. DO Vul caught in outburst by Henden at V=16.427 in June 1999. This appears to be the first positive observation since Baade's discovery in 1927. 3. AAVSO and vsnet report many negative observations of fainter than 15.0 and often fainter than 15.5. From the available data it would appear that maximum is between 15.5 and 16.5, with a first guess near 16.0 probably being with half a magnitude of the truth. 4. A quiescent magnitude of V=20.73 has been determined by J. Thorstensen. His single UBVI set is as follows: V = 20.73 +/- 0.05 B-V = +0.08 +/- 0.10 U-B = -0.99 +/- 0.17 V-I = +0.64 +/- 0.10 5. DO Vul has a faint companion of about magnitude 20 located 2.4 arcsec due east. Bruce Sumner Revised 1 July 1999 Second revision 5 June 2001
